Divorce is hard and giving advice for me is harder, though we all wish for time machines at those critical times in our life, to see into the future and be certain of our choices.
A broken marriage is devastating and it’s not just the hurt, betrayal or neglect that can come along with it.
This should only be a last resort, though in today’s society it seems more like a drive-thru window, easy and convenient.
So what to do when you feel more like grabbing burger and fries, instead of working things out?
I didn’t have an answer to that 5 years ago, I was set out to prove I could be a one woman show and didn’t need anything or anyone to solve my problems, (insert time machine). We’ve all heard Aristotle’s “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” and when it comes to raising kids and running a household, this is even more true than ever.
Recently I heard about Mort Fertel, when he and his wife experienced tragedy which threw their marriage into a tailspin they turned their marriage around and it became the basis for Marriage Fitness. Marriage Fitness with Mort Fertel can even help out when only one spouse is willing. Marriage Fitness is an innovative step-by-step relationship-changing system that teaches you how to save your marriage and the overall success rate is over 90%. You’ll learn to neutralize your problems and put into practice a system of relationship habits that will shift the momentum of your marriage.
I do enjoy reading the “Today’s Advice” column and jotting down in my little notebook inspiring ideas that work whether you’re currently married or not.
“Most people look for short-cuts. Today everything is about efficiency. Efficiency works with machines, business, and finances. But efficiency does NOT work with relationships.”
Sounds like my top of the line efficiency washing machine that never worked well, I actually went back to hand washing all our clothes in a wash bucket for a while and got better results, looking back, I wish I could have focus more of that energy into the marriage.
If there are no safety reasons to exit a marriage, but it simply feels like a lost cause, just remember that feeling when we finally finding something that went missing.
