We Go Big with Kindness

Our family motto is “Even small acts of kindness matter.” and with a house full of both teens and tweens it’s something we really do pay attention too. But motivating 4 exhausted kids on the weekend can be a challenging, sometimes all they want to do after a long week of school is “chill”, so getting them up at 6am on a Saturday requires a lot of them, their hearts really enjoy helping others, so I bring Yoplait® Go Big™ Yogurt to give them a boost of energy to keep them going, because when it comes to kindness they help big!

Cleaning up the beach was so rewarding, and yes fun! It was like a treasure hunt, though technically more a trash hunt, they we’re amazed by what was found and the shear volume of it; 45 cans, 120 pieces of styrofoam, and dozens of plastic caps, just to name a few items in the 30 pounds they collected.

Clean beaches make us happy!
After such a busy morning we enjoyed a picnic lunch on our clean beach, we pack a lunch free of junk food, Yoplait® Go Big™ Yogurt does that perfectly and the
Go Big pouch is like nothing you’ve seen before, just grip & rip! Very easy, great for on-the-go hungry teen needing a boost of energy at school or during their weekend activities.

Rolling with confidence!

There comes a time when handing the kids a baby wipe is just not cool, but either is a mud covered kid dripping in sweat wanting to get in the car, I love that there’s an option for my tweens and teens that won’t embarrass them. We started keeping the Cottonelle FreshCare Flushable Cleansing Cloths on hand after my mother gave us a package (that’s probably code for my kids are messy), she’s been using them at home and in the gym, now Cottonelle FreshCare are a must have for us, playing sports in 100% humidity, and 95 degree weather is the recipe for one stinky kid, the wipes help keep everyone fresh until they hit the showers.

Cottonelle® with CleanRipple® Texture to really gets the grim off my kids but still gentle enough for my extra sensitive ones!  And even better is the new Rigid flip top, it’s much easier to open with on hand and a big help keeping the package closed and the wipes wet! If you aren’t already, being a member of Sam’s Club gets you some pretty awesome product first before they ever make it to the smaller stores,  Sam’s Club is where I get my Cottonelle, there’s no running out of them at our house. So next time don’t just wipe when you can wash with Cottonelle Fresh Care Flushable Cleansing Cloths, and experience a more confident clean!

I was a long evening of roller skating practice, she’s trying so hard to be ready for the school skating field trips, building up confidence is the key to success, even roller skating!

Today’s post is sponsored by brand, by my love for their FreshCare Flushable Cloths are all my own!”

Vegetarian Homestyle Goulash Recipe

When I think back to my childhood and that go to comfort food I immediately remember my Grandmother’s Hungarian Goulash. It for me was like taking my three favorite foods; hamburger, pizza, and lasagna and mixing it into one dish and calling it a silly name, goulash for the most part is soup or stew of meat and vegetables, seasoned with paprika and other spices, originating from the medieval Kingdom of Hungary. The version I make resemble more of the American goulash, mentioned in cookbooks since at least 1914. American goulash now usually include elbow macaroni, cubed steakground beef or hamburger, and tomatoes in some form, whether canned whole, as tomato sauce, tomato soup, and or tomato paste.

I just love the new Ragu Homestyle Pasta sauce, this recipe can take a while in the kitchen, using the Ragu help speed up the prep time for the goulash, the special blend of herbs (basil, fennel, oregano and black pepper) with no artificial flavors, artificial colors or high fructose corn syrup, saves me time and I can do a lot with an extra 30 minutes not spent in the kitchen.

Prepare the pasta and set aside, now brown the veggie crumbles (or ground beef) in a skillet, add in the garlic, vegetable broth and water, add in the pasta, 1/2 the cheese and the Ragu Pasta sauce. Mix in the skillet and let simmer for 15 minutes, then place in a dish, top with the remaining cheese.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, the cheese should be a golden brown.

Serve up hot with a slice of toast and enjoy!

Thank you to Ragu for sponsoring today’s post and inspiring me pass on my family traditions.

2 Easy Breakfast Cereal Recipes for Strawberry Lovers

Honey Bunches of Oats with Strawberries is already a delicious cereal, with a mix of flakes, bunches, honey and real strawberries, makes Honey Bunches of Oats a unique cereal experience already. Now
add it to my quick and easy recipes and it’s perfect for those short on time but hungry for breakfast, a fun way to transform your morning routine. Quick easy and delicious, a perfect way to start the day!

One of our favorites is a Strawberry Breakfast Crumble “Pie”, it’s a lighter take on a traditional coffee cake, you might think well than it’s a fruit pie? not quite since there’s no crust. It’s basically coffee cake minus the cake, or a fruit pie crumble minus the pie crust. We call it “pie”, but its since my son doesn’t like pie, the name is still up in the air.
Quick and easy, a few tasty ingredients and it bakes right in the ramekins and then serve.

Strawberry Breakfast Crumble Pie

10 oz of Fresh or frozen strawberries
1 Cup white sugar
1.5 Cups of flour
1/2 Stick of butter
3 Cups Honey bunches of Oats with Strawberries cereal
Fill the bottom of 4 ramekins 1/2 way full with sliced strawberries, then sprinkle about 1 tablespoon of sugar over the strawberries in each ramekin. In a bowl mix the crumble topping using the 1/2 stick of softened butter with the 1 1/2 cups flour, and the remaining sugar, the mixture will be lumpy. Lightly cover the strawberries with some of this mixture, then top that with Honey Bunches of Oats cereal, and another layer of the crumble topping. Make sure no strawberries are sticking out of the topping or they will end up burnt.
Bake at 400 degrees for about 15 minutes, or until the strawberries are bubbling.

Another one of our go to morning recipes is the Malted Milk Cereal Fruit Smoothie, it’s really easy, all you’ll need is a blender and some hungry kids!

In the blender add milk, malt powder, cereal, and fresh strawberries, pulse until well blended.

Malted Milk Cereal Fruit Smoothie

2 Cups milk
1/2 cup malt powder
1.5 Cups of fresh or thawed strawberries
1/4 Cup sugar
2 Tablespoons honey
Add everything but the honey in to the blender and blend until almost smooth (smooth enough to fit through a straw). Pour into a glass and add 2-3 Tablespoons of honey to taste.
You can add or change the ration to your preferred taste, this is our favorite.

So delicious! But even better, is that I know my kids are fueled up and ready to learn.

If bunnies weren’t cute enough, food shaped like bunnies are just ridiculously adorable. That’s just one of the reasons we love Annie’s products, another being

Fresh batch of yummy, gooey, Bunny Smores Bars ready for the taking. The kids love eating these with a cool glass of milk,  it’s the modern version of a bowl of cereal perfect for breakfast, or eating around the campfire.
Cuteness overload, Arrow, Watson and Jelly making another appearance on our blog.
So I’m wondering if they think we can’t notice them amongst the Annie’s bunny snacks? Oh our kitchen is never with a few lops hopping around at my feet while I’m cooking dinner or packing the kids school lunches.

Heat the coconut oil and marshmallows in the microwave or on the stove top until melted, stir in Annie’s cocoa bunnies cereal, rice crispies and 3 ounces of the Annie’s bunny grahams until evenly mixed. Let cool and harden, then cut into rectangles of desired size. Next melt the chocolate chips in a large bowl for dipping, finely crush up the remaining bunny grahams. Dip the bunny treat bars into the melted chocolate, then into the graham cracker bits, place dipped side up to cool. Then serve.
(sorry, Annie’s Bunny products are for humans only!)
