Sparkling Ice is Cool for Back to School

We used some serious survival skills to make it through the first week of school, one Homeschooler, 2 Public schoolers, and one in Private School, that’s 4 kids in 4 schools, it will not be bland this year for sure. Even I got schooled this week, my super smart son somehow tricked all of us into doing his math homework each night, and we killed that straight A streak of his, literally. I guess the jokes on him.

The girls and I managed to squeezed in a few fun moments between all that schoolwork, but boy was it hot outside! Lucky for us I had packed our fridge full of refreshing Sparkling Ice to keep us cool. Seriously, summer is never over here, we have 2 seasons hot and Mardi Gras and so as we like to say: “Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler!”

Always a ray of light to an otherwise boring day, my Sparkling Ice Black Raspberry, Sparkling fruity waters without the calories.

A few other fun fruity favorites of ours: Orange Mango, Cherry Limeade, Kiwi Strawberry, Coconut Pineapple), visit Amazon.com to find all 15 sparkling waters.

winter wonderland picnic and family fun!

Be warned… too much winter fun ahead!

But first, a common misconceptions about LBL (Light Bladder Leakage) and to give back control to those that experience this condition.  Poise Liners are specially designed for LBL and are #1 for LBL, now you can feel confident spending the day being active and having fun with your family.

Poise® liners are designed specifically for Light Bladder Leakage (LBL), which makes them an easy choice for the 1 in 3 women with LBL.

A winter picnic is just the thing to take a cold January day and turn it into something amazing. I baked up a batch our our favorite black bean brownies and packed some warm grilled chefs sandwiches to go with a few more yummies.

Lunch isn’t complete until you burning off some of that new energy with a giant snowball fight!

Tobogganing…

and yes, the best winter sport there is, ice skating!

Life’s has to be fun, with a few out of the box activities to get you laughing, try getting back on the ice after 20 years and test out all those years of childhood skating lesson.

Thanks to Poise Panty Liners even mom can participate in the activity without worry of a little LBL (light bladder leakage) when it comes to all that laughing at yourself. Might need a pillow to cushion the impact next time, it was a bit hard trying to get out of bed the next day. A five year old does not have as far to fall, that’s all I have to say.

Poise® Leak-Block* sides give you discreet and worry-free protection. The Dry-Touch® layer helps keeps you feeling fresh. Specifically designed, you can feel confident and in control with worry-free  protection from Poise Maximum Pads, specifically designed for Light Bladder Leaks (LBL). Poise are 40% more absorbent than the Poise Moderate Pads, for more protection when you need it and more laugher when you want it.

Kicking it up!!!

We finally found that a sport they can all participate, better yet stick with!
I feel like they’ve tried them all; soccer, tennis, ballet, swim, chess and golf, (baseball’s next year).
So when Saturday came it was a big day for my three littlest ones. Their first belt testing!!

100 crunches
50 pushups
100 jumping jacks
and
dozens of kicks and pushes

It was almost as much fun seeing the looks on the parents and grandparents as the kids counted 10, 20, 30, …100 crunches. I think all our stomachs were hurting just watching.

Modesty, Courtesy, Integrity, Self-Control, Perseverance, Indomitable Spirit…and a smile.
They’ve been working hard for the past 3 months, 2-5 times a week, collecting stripes and now it’s official,
we have 3 yellow belts in our house! or what mine refer to as the bumble belt, once they get a couple black stripes on it.
All five of us take karate, but belt achievement is slower in the adult classes.
There’s no shame, Luna and I look good in our white.
It makes me proud to see all their hard work and perseverance give them such a sense of accomplishment,
as they proudly tie their yellows for class each week.

St. Paddy’s Day Parade

I loved watching the sea of green heading into the elementary school today from tutus to
face paint, hats and boots, what a fun but chilly day to be Irish or well at least look it!
This year we decided to go to the “Old Neighborhood” parade since they forecasted the weather to be half-warm
??? which really means 30 degrees on Saturday and not the 15 set for Sunday, brrr!
Last year we froze even in snow pants and yes we froze again the wind was blowing, but it turns out
candy is magical and kids don’t complain!

Hey St. Patrick I heard you weren’t Irish! Who knew?! Well no worries neither are we. Even if my son’s name would fool anyone and I always always gotten mistaken for being Irish,
but it can’t possibly be from my green eyes and freckles, can it?

So much fun!
Now into the kitchen to try making my first Irish soda bread and some yummy cabbage.

{WW} : Winterfest 2013

Winter is definitely a new and exciting thing for the kiddos and lucky for them my 16 year vacation from the snow has made it more enjoyable and 25 degrees is not as bad as it sounds when there’s pretty white snow everywhere and friends willing to give you a little push down the hill.

Now if I could just bring myself to start liking hot cocoa this winter would be perfect!

{WW} Family Fun on Ice

We drove straight through from Alabama hoping to make it in time for our family’s first annual Christmas Eve skate, we pulled off the highway at 1:14pm and in the parking lot of the skating rink at 1:15pm, perfect timing! We hit the ice some of the kiddos for the first time ever! I wasn’t to rusty at it and with my camera in hand I snapped a few before having some fun myself.
Now my little cousins are star hockey players and so adorable, they can make circles around me with their eyes closed, everybody had a great time and filled up on frozen slushes afterwards…..Brrrrr!

Happy New Year!!!!!
