Halloween Costumes of Years Past

Looking back at through old Halloween photos is always fun. I love making the kids costumes and sometime they make their own, we all trick or treat together and now that they’re older and I can’t sneak chocolate out of their treat bags, I have to dress up and go door to door, to get my chocolate fix. Last year I was a VooDoo doll, this year Mexican wrestler.

Look how cute my little knight was guarding his princess from the dragon.

Homemade bat girl and Newsie, she was able to stuff a lot of candy in that newspaper carrier bag.

Homemade pie and rain cloud, left me with no finger prints, I could have stolen candy out of their treat bags that year and gone undetected.

We love Handprint T-shirt art

Paper towels for me as a crafter and mom, like many of you, have become an my must have. I need them within reach at all times, I don’t think there’s anything I do that doesn’t benefit from having paper towels on hand, from art projects, to making dinner, photography shoots to bunnies, it has me covered and being eco minded I don’t like to waste, so Scott Choose-A-Sheet are the ones we use from messes big and small.
Does it looks like petals of a rose opening up for the first time, see my paper towel obsession is real!
The holidays can start to get expensive so I try and save where ever and when ever I can.
Dollar General’s new Digital Coupons are surprising easy the to redeem from a lot of great brands. You’ll need to try it out!

Our house is about as busy as Santa’s workshop right noes, we have a ton of art projects to get done. There was enough paint covered fingers to induce anxiety in any mom, it was enough to make my hair turn gray, or red, yellow and green, yikes!
Handprint t-shirt art was lots of fun, super messy but they turn out great.

Supplies:

cotton t-shirts
foam brushes
multi-surface paints in many colors
painter’s tape
cardboard
Steps:
Tape off an area on the t-shirt you’d for the handprints design. Next spell out the word LOVE in tape inside the taped off box. Place a piece of cardboard and paper towel inside the t-shirt under your design. Next using sponge brushes, cover the hands with a generous amount of paint, then pressing the hand firmly within the taped off box, repeat. Make sure to cover the taped word LOVE completely with painted hand prints. When the paint is dry, peel off the tape, you design will now be visible.
Scott’s had us covered from our hands, to the table, the walls and sink and the kids wondered why I was wearing the most colorful, ugly sweater on I could find….paint attack!

Ideas on sharing for the Holidays

We’re get ready for cold and flu season and my first priority was to stock up with this exclusive winter collection from Kleenex® and Sam’s Club. The must-have combo includes 8 tissue boxes of Kleenex® Lotion, plus 3 tissue boxes of Kleenex® Perfect Fit® Winter Designs. Look how perfect it goes with my winter bouquet of camellia and cotton blooms, and just as soft too! Kleenex® Lotion facial tissues feature 3-ply construction for thickness and absorbency, and Aloe Vera and Vitamin E for a soothing touch to delicate skin and as of last night we have our first cold of the season, 80 degrees outside, and we’re curled up in bed.

The holiday season is a great time to reach out
and connect with someone close to you or even a stranger and a perfect time to give back and teach your kids about caring for others. Our family decided to “adopt” a Troop that’s stationed overseas. It’s a weekly commitment and we are excited! So the kids help gather  some needed items, a box of tissues is a required items for the care packages as are many things we take the luxury of on a daily basis. The Kleenex cube with lotion was a fit perfectly into the shoebox we are preparing to send and will accompany the sweet holiday card that signed by dozens of local community residence thanking our Troop and wish them a happy holiday!

They always have the best designs, matches my decor to a T. The kids love the cylinder shaped Kleenex and as my oldest daughter and allergy prone child stated, it’s her favorite time of year, mostly because our house is stocked with Kleenex in every room.  Kleenex® Perfect Fit® tissues feature 2-ply quality, an upright box that is the right size for small spaces and winter designs to brighten up any home or office space.

I gifted a Sam’s club membership to my sweet, kind friend who is always doing for others and after recently being involved in a bad car accident, she definitely needs a one stop shop when it comes to stocking up on goodies for the holidays! If you don’t have a Sam’s Club membership, there are so many reasons to have one, especially this time of year!

Many thanks to Kleenex® Brand for sponsoring today’s story and encouraging me to spread comfort and cheer!

Keeping Warm

It’s been a frigid start to the new year but we started it out on a warm note with our
tradition giant cup of hot homemade hot cocoa topped with a half a bag of mini marshmallows.
The kids have yet to ever finish drinking the 160 ounces of cocoa but they have fun trying every year.
Blowing bubbles, sucking up the marshmallow through the straw and filling their bellies
full of the warm sugary drink to keep them awake way past midnight so we could welcome in 2014 together!

Father’s Day Gift Ideas:

We always fun coming up with Father’s day gift so I thought I’d share our 2 favorite ideas:
I made this for Father’s Day for my Dad last year, since there’s 5 of us we each came up with 10 reasons we loved him and then one from the cat and dog to get our 52 reasons.

And of course this monster of a card for Dad’s sweet tooth:

This year’s ideas won’t disappoint but I’ll keep it under wraps until we deliver the big surprise!

{WW} Scenes From the Road Home

Spent Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve day on the road but we made it to our new home
just in time to celebrate this festive holiday with friends and family and our new neighbors
who brought over a plate full of delicious cookies as soon as we walk in our front door!!

The snow is falling almost as fast as my kids on ice skates!!!!
