Fuel the Knowledge with Pepperidge Farms Goldfish

How did I to get two teenagers to study over spring break?

Almost the same as when I’d ask them to pick up their toys as a toddler, Pepperidge Farms Goldfish crackers and a walk outside to watch the sunset.

There’s no way around studying, less than 2 weeks before the 4 hour long test, kind of glad it wasn’t need when I was in high school, wish I had an older sister to help me with school work and grew up in such a beautiful place with sand instead of snow.
But I can’t imagine how many more freckles I might have had, if there was this much sunlight my hometown of Buffalo.

As the kids get older it seems like things can get all the more crazier, and once the warm weather hits, which is right now, the kids are often struck by spring fever. Our solution is simple!

Fresh air, sunshine and fuel for our knowledge is key to happiness!
Well not sure about everywhere, but here in lower Alabama on the Eastern Shore, we revel in its ceaseless beauty.

Making spring cleaning a fun family chore, seriously!

It’s hot around here, I think we’ve skipped over Spring and went right into Summer, so it’s time to give the house a good cleaning, especially since the major demo in our remodeling is done. I’m in love with the Lemi Shine products the products are powerful and safe (100% natural citric extracts), the Liquid Dish Soap, Shower & Tile Cleaner, and the Glass & Surface cleaners are my new favorites. I use a lot of vinegar to clean but it’s not always the best for some surfaces, so it’s good to find an alternative that I feel comfortable using around my kids.

Home remodeling is an adventure and a full kitchen reno is even more interesting, we have a beautiful farmhouse sink, but with no plumbing as of today, so it’s a bit rustic around here lately. Now that it’s hot enough outside, the kids look forward to any activity that involves getting wet, even washing the dirty dishes.

I wish I had video of them cleaning up their bathroom, the comments were priceless. “I haven’t seen the faucet this clean in 10 years”, I had to laugh since we’ve only lived in our current house for less than a year. There were also plenty of ohs and ahs, I even over heard them remark on how great it was that Lemi Shine was ammonia free and made with 100% natural citrus extracts. I don’t want to get overly excite, but I think my girls might actually help me clean now!

Egg Shell & Flower Spring Centerpieces

I’ve been busy pruning back the trees and cleaning out the flowerbeds, I hated to have to toss
all the pretty clippings into the compost pile so I came up with three really easy table
centerpieces so we could enjoy all the beautiful flowers.
The first one I made by punching 9 holes in the metal lid of a Del Monte fruit jar , the holes
in 2 hole sizes to accommodate different stems.
Next was a french lemonade bottle, it’s really good lemonade we got ours at T.J. Maxx but
the sell the same drink at World Market too.
Then finally I added some soil into our left over egg shells, I thought they were beautiful and had
been saving the cleaned out shells on my kitchen window sill for some time now waiting to
turn them into something special and the ceramic egg cartons were my find of the week for $2.99 at T.J. Maxx!

Petal Perfect

Spring has arrived! The flowers are in full bloom, the bees are hard at work, and pollen is on everything.
I just love the beauty of it all but not the sneezing.

Speaking of, have you seen the latest Kleenex Perfect Fit designs?
I almost walked past them, so much better that my grandma’s Kleenex box and they are quite literally a perfect fit for my decor!

Our cherry tree, apple tree and the ornamental out front are so lovely with their delicate white and pink flowers,
I had to bring some of inside. Nothing cheers up a room more than flowers!
But with four kids at the peak of allergy season we’ll probably be going back for more tissues.

So I made sure to put the Kleenex Perfect Fit close by, on the living room mantel,
in the piano room and next to my adorable bunny cookie jar I got from sweet Luna for Mother’s Day!
They fit perfectly in small spaces and even the better in our car cup holder.
We all need Kleenex every once in a while so I prefer to keep a box out all year round and I’m so glad they decided
to put some current style into it the packaging so I don’t have to look at my Granny’s Kleenex box.

Make sure to grab the limited packs of Kleenex Perfect Fit at your local Sam’s Club before my next birthday, May 31st, 2015!

at the beach…

I’ve been on a little work vacation in the sunny south for the past week and definitely needed the vitamin D along with some friend time and seeing some of my favorite clients. I’ll have so many photos to post when we finally get back in a couple weeks, let’s just hope the snow is gone up there by then, I’m really enjoying this spring weather!

Photo Fridays: Sweet Sisters

Love this father and daughter photo!

Spring sessions are awesome around here, these are from the latest shoot, it gets ridiculous in the summer and no one wants shots of their children hot and irritable from the heat, hope I can get a few more in before then. This year was exceptionally warm can you believe I started my spring photo shoots way back in January, most of the kids were in shorts and sundresses. Here’s to amazing gulf coast weather and sunsets on the bay!
